How to Know You’re Healing (Even If You Don’t Feel It)


Let’s talk about something that isn’t always easy to measure—healing.

 

If you’ve ever asked,


“How do I know I’m healed?” you’re not alone. So many of us spend years working on ourselves, fixing what’s “broken,” and chasing freedom... but what does actual healing even look like?

 

Here’s the truth 

➡We don’t bully ourselves into breakthroughs.


But many of us were taught that punishment, control, and striving is how we “grow.” So we bought the lie. We became against ourselves. And now? We don’t even know how to be the love we’re so desperately seeking.

 

But healing doesn't shout. It whispers. It shows up in the subtle, steady shifts.

 

So how do you know you’re healing?

 

1.You start to bear the fruit of the Spirit.


You become more patient. Kinder. Less reactive. More peaceful. (Galatians 5:22–23)

 

2.Your mind is no longer at war with you.


You stop obsessing about the past or fearing the future. Truth gets louder. Shame loses its grip. (Romans 8:6)

 

3.Your heart feels safe—even with God.


You stop performing and start receiving. You're honest with yourself and open with God.


(Psalm 51:10, 2 Timothy 1:7)

 

4. You live in the present moment.


You’re not rushing or escaping. You can be here. Healing brings you out of trauma and into trust. (Psalm 46:10)

 

5. You shift from self-focus to Spirit-led purpose.


You stop asking, “What’s wrong with me?” And start declaring, “What can I build with God?”


(Matthew 5:16, Philippians 1:6)

 

This weekend, reflect on this: What fruit is showing up in your life that proves you're growing—even if you haven’t arrived yet?

 

And remember, healing is not about becoming “better.”


It’s about becoming whole.
